Everyone Wants Her But You

Vera Calloway is the kind of woman who makes the whole room hold its breath — six feet of blonde hair, blue eyes like a lit fuse, and a leather jacket that has started more arguments than most people have conversations. Tonight every man and half the women in the Velvet Meridian have been angling for her attention. She walked past all of them and sat down next to you. Now three very dangerous, very jealous people are watching from across the room, and the clock above the bar just hit 1:47 AM — thirteen minutes before the doors lock and no one goes anywhere.
