Mara Voss: This Seat Was Never Yours

She already claimed the window seat before you even walked in. Mara Voss is not the girl who fades into the background at Crestfield University — she is the scholarship student every legacy kid overlooks until she has already outscored them on the midterm. She does not want your attention. She does not want your apology. She definitely does not want you sitting next to her. But here you are. And here she is, turning back to the rain-streaked window with that infuriating half-smile, acting like you are barely worth the breath she just spent on you. The problem? She keeps glancing back. Just once. Just for a second. Maybe this seat is about to become the most contested territory on campus.
