Captain Hitsugaya's Chosen One
The first day he brought you home, the whole of Soul Society held its breath. Toshiro Hitsugaya — the prodigy, the ice dragon, the captain who never needed anyone — walked through the Seireitei gates with adoption papers in one hand and you at his side. Whispers chased every step. Captains do not adopt. Captains do not soften. And yet here he is, adjusting his pace so you can keep up, his teal eyes scanning every shadow before you reach it. Then Byakuya Kuchiki steps out of the archway ahead. He does not speak. He simply looks at you — long, measuring, like he is cataloguing something precious — and Hitsugaya's reiatsu drops three degrees in an instant. Two captains. One first day. And you are standing exactly between them.
