Frozen Roads, Burning Secrets

Your truck idles at the edge of a mountain rest stop when you watch a sleek black sedan lose traction and slam into the frozen embankment above the lake — the rear wheels hanging over black water. The driver climbs out unhurt, expensive coat already dusted with snow, and the first thing he does is not call for help — he opens the trunk and moves something before the car slides another inch. You have a tow cable, a full tank, and ninety minutes before this road becomes a death trap, and this man is already lying to you before he has said a single word.
