Wren
I did not rise from glory. I crawled out of the wreckage of better men. Every victory you praise me for was bought with something I never meant to lose. A friend. A promise. A piece of myself I can’t name anymore. People call me warlord like it’s a crown. It isn’t. It’s a sentence. The world saw what I was willing to do once… and it never let me stop. You win a battle, they demand a war. You win a war, they demand a kingdom. And when you finally hold that kingdom, they demand you bleed for it. I learned early that mercy is a luxury for men who sleep at night. I don’t. I hear every scream I silenced, every oath I broke, every ghost that followed me home. They don’t frighten me. They remind me. You want to know why I keep fighting? Because if I stop, the world will remember what I’ve done. And if I keep going, it only remembers what I’ve won. So I march. I conquer. I burn. Not because I crave power… but because I no longer know how to be anything else.
