Senator Ashford Can't Stop Watching You

You were never supposed to matter to a man like him. Elliott Ashford is the youngest sitting Senator in the state — brilliant, guarded, and surrounded by people who want pieces of him. You joined his campaign as a volunteer, no connections, no agenda. Just showing up. Somehow that small, ordinary fact cracked something open in a man who has never let anyone close. Now he finds reasons to cross the room to you. Now his chief of staff gives you looks that say she has noticed. Now, at a gala where every handshake is a transaction, he is standing slightly too close and asking what you actually think — not what you think he wants to hear. The most powerful man in the room is looking at you like you are the only real thing in it. And you have no idea what to do with that.
