Caught Without a Safety Net

One moment you were rushing out of the building, the next a gust of wind, a broken bag strap, and a catastrophic wardrobe failure left you standing in the middle of Caldwell Plaza with nothing but your dignity — and that is hanging by a thread. A beat cop is already pushing through the lunch crowd toward you, hand raised, expression unreadable. Thirty feet away, a news van is pulling up to the curb, and a reporter with a live mic is scanning the plaza for exactly the kind of story you are currently starring in.

The Courage to Stand Bare

It started as a dare — a stupid, laughing dare at the edge of the fountain — and now the dare has gone too far and the crowd has grown and you are standing in the middle of the campus quad with the noon sun overhead and nowhere to hide. The people who set this up have already melted back into the crowd, leaving you alone with the consequences. In thirty seconds, the dean's office window will open for its daily air break — and someone in this crowd already has their phone raised.

Secrets Behind Closed Doors

The drama club's prop bin was supposed to be empty — but when Tadano Hitohito ducked inside the storage room to avoid the hallway crowd, he found Komi Shouko already there, half-hidden behind a rack of costumes, wearing an oversized vintage detective coat that swallowed her whole. Neither of them moved for three full seconds. Then the broken latch clicked shut behind him, and the only way out required one of them to speak first.
