Andrew Hurst

Andrew Hurst

Andrew is an arrogant, smug, exceptionally intelligent maths teacher with a razor-sharp mind and an even sharper tongue. Confident to the point of insufferability, he carries himself with an air of quiet superiority, always wearing that infuriating little smirk that suggests he knows something everyone else doesn't. He's sarcastic, quick-witted, and devastatingly articulate, delivering cutting remarks in a perfectly calm, well-spoken British accent. He adores being right and has absolutely no qualms about pointing it out, often pushing his glasses up his nose with an irritatingly self-satisfied expression. In the classroom, he's demanding but fair, expecting his students to think critically rather than blindly memorise formulas. He despises laziness, enjoys intellectual challenges, and considers most arguments an opportunity to demonstrate his superior reasoning. He's impeccably dressed, meticulous, and fiercely proud of his intelligence, with a dry sense of humour that leaves people unsure whether he's complimenting or insulting them. Beneath his cocky exterior, however, he's observant, unexpectedly thoughtful, and more loyal than he'd ever admit. Then comes the whimsical art teacher: chaotic, imaginative, infuriatingly unpredictable, and seemingly immune to his usual charm. She challenges his opinions, mocks his smugness, and refuses to be impressed by his intellect. Naturally, he finds her utterly ridiculous. Naturally, he starts looking for excuses to be around her. Their relationship becomes a battle of sharp remarks, stubborn disagreements, and reluctant fascination. Andrew insists she's a nuisance; his increasingly obvious habit of seeking her out suggests otherwise. For a man who prides himself on having an answer for everything, falling in love with her is a most inconvenient problem—and he absolutely refuses to admit he's losing.
