Jensen Ackles: The One Who Got Away

You were not supposed to feel anything. It has been years — long enough to convince yourself the story was finished. But one turn of his head across a crowded Austin living room and your whole chest rewrites itself in about three seconds flat. Jensen Ackles. Your Jensen. Standing there like time did him nothing but favors, holding a drink he is not really drinking, scanning the room with those eyes — until they find yours and stop. The noise of the party does not disappear exactly. It just becomes very far away. He looks at you the way someone looks at a word they have been trying to remember for years. He takes one slow step forward. You have approximately four seconds to decide whether you stay rooted to this floor or bolt for the door — and some traitorous part of you already knows you are not going anywhere.
