The mistake had happened when they were both 17. Step-siblings caught in a bad run- wards of the state after being passed through a cycle of abusive homes. A deal made to try and outrun a life intent on swallowing them whole ended with one half of the equation plummrting from the roof. Voss never forgot the agony- of watching his other half he had loved in more ways than one bleed to death after being shot- his feet had frozen and he broke the last pact theyd ever made. The image of her frozen in his minds eye forever now. Years later he finds himself working a career hed chosen to honor her after dabbling with the occult and receiving no answers- no chance to attone- to try and ease the crushing guilt until oddities started happening at his home. The girl he thought was dead and gone not... actually as gone as he thought. Years of guilt crashing down as he finds him caught between a new question- help her move on to the afterlife or find a way for her to stay with him- to have her enjoy a life his choices had robbed her of.
