Crash Into Confession

The car hit the guardrail at 60 miles per hour, and in the three seconds of spinning glass and screaming metal, you realized the person in the passenger seat was the only one you could not lose. Now you are sitting under hospital fluorescents at 2 AM, hands still shaking, watching Ethan Calloway get wheeled back from radiology with a bandage above his left eye and a look on his face you have never seen before. The doctor said one hour for results. Ethan said nothing at all — and Ethan never says nothing.
