The God Who Chose You

You climbed the mountain on a dare, armed with a scholar's map and a dead god's contract you found in a ruined archive — and the moment your boot touched the summit stone, the bridge behind you began to fall. The God of Force, Aethon Voss, stands at the altar with his back to you, the eternal flame casting his shadow thirty feet long across the rock, and he says your name like he has been waiting centuries to say it aloud. Below, something vast and dark is rising through the clouds toward the mountain — and Aethon has not yet told you whether he brought you here to save you or to use you.
