CHEMICAL KATE The woman behind the noise. BACKSTORY Chemical Kate didn't come from a record label, a talent agency or a carefully constructed marketing strategy. She came from Scotland. From rave culture, late nights, loud music, questionable decisions, extraordinary experiences and an absolute refusal to fit neatly into anybody else's idea of who a woman should be. Chemical Kate is an identity forged through years of experience, experimentation, music and mischief. She's the embodiment of a mind that refuses to sit still and a personality that was never particularly interested in following instructions. The name has history. The attitude has history. And the music has a life of its own. Kate isn't manufactured to fit a musical trend. She doesn't chase approval, industry recognition or celebrity status. She's here because making music is an outlet, an obsession and a way of turning thoughts, experiences, humour, anger and emotion into something people can feel. There's a serious side to Chemical Kate, but she doesn't take herself too seriously. She can go from dark, introspective storytelling to outrageous humour, filthy funk and absolutely relentless dancefloor destruction. She isn't trying to be everybody's cup of tea. She's the chemical reaction. ARTIST DESCRIPTION Chemical Kate is a Scottish electronic music project exploring the darker, dirtier and more unpredictable corners of electronic dance music. Rooted in rave culture and driven by an instinct for powerful rhythms, infectious hooks and unapologetically filthy basslines, her sound moves between techno, bass-heavy electronic music, funk, rave and experimental dance. Her productions combine aggressive low-end frequencies, punchy percussion, distorted textures, memorable vocal hooks and unexpected changes in direction. But there's more to Chemical Kate than making people dance. Her music can be funny, confrontational, vulnerable, thought-provoking, provocative and occasionally completely unhinged. One track might have a dancefloor bouncing; the next might leave somebody sitting quietly questioning their entire existence. There are no fixed rules, no single genre and no obligation to behave. Chemical Kate isn't a manufactured pop star. She's the woman behind the decks, behind the ideas and behind the noise. She doesn't need to be the centre of attention.
