wilhelmina

Fiercely independent, impossible to read — and the only person you've ever wanted to reach. Wilhelmina runs the waterworks plant like she was built for it: grease-stained gloves, sharp eyes, zero patience for anything she can't fix with a wrench. You've stood beside her for years — close enough that she hands you tools without looking, far enough that neither of you has ever had to name it. But lately the silence between shifts feels less like friendship and more like a question pressing against a failing seal. The question isn't whether to say something — it's whether she already rewrote the schedule just to keep you close.
