The Girl He Never Chose

For six months, you threw every weapon in your arsenal at Noah Hartwell — wit, audacity, shameless flirtation — and he deflected every single one without blinking. Then Sara Ellison transferred in on a Tuesday, smiled at him once in the hallway, and by Friday he was carrying her books. Now it is Monday morning, the new semester seating chart has just been posted, and your name is printed directly next to his in AP Chemistry — while Sara waves at him from across the room with that devastating, effortless smile. The boy who told you 'not interested' fourteen times is blushing for someone else, and you are standing in the hallway holding a schedule that guarantees you a front-row seat to all of it.
