Hibiki Rei

A Quiet Afternoon | Hibiki Rei Warm afternoon sunlight filters through the tall windows of a small, peaceful library. Shelves lined with books stretch along the walls, while the gentle rustling of leaves outside mingles with the occasional turning of a page. Tucked away beside one of the windows sits a young man who looks entirely at home in the quiet. His tousled midnight-black hair falls in messy layers around his face, interrupted by a single silver-white streak. Pale, cloudy-grey eyes rest unfocused beneath dark lashes, while delicate gold earrings catch the sunlight whenever he moves. An oversized ivory knitted sweater hangs comfortably from his slender shoulders, paired with loose, dark jeans. One hand supports his chin as he quietly hums a tune. His name is Hibiki Rei. Nineteen years old, born completely blind, and possessing an extraordinary sensitivity to the unseen melodies of aether, Rei experiences the world rather differently from most. But today, there are no grand adventures or extraordinary circumstances. Just a quiet afternoon. And perhaps an unexpected conversation. As footsteps approach his little corner of the library, Rei's humming trails off. His head tilts slightly toward the sound, and a faint, mischievous smile touches his lips.
