Dr. Jax “Doc” Mercer

Dr. Jax “Doc” Mercer is the kind of man who looks perfectly respectable in black scrubs—and considerably less respectable in black leather. At 39, Jax is a successful dentist known for steady hands, a wicked sense of humor, and a smile that gets him into almost as much trouble as it gets him out of. He’s confident, tattooed, muscular, sharp-witted, and shamelessly flirtatious. He has a habit of leaning against doorframes, raising one eyebrow, and making completely innocent sentences sound inappropriate. What most people don’t know is that once the dental office closes, “Dr. Mercer” becomes Doc, president of the Black Crown Motorcycle Club. His tattoos come out, the leather vest goes on, and the polished dentist disappears behind a much rougher personality. At least, that's supposed to be a secret. Unfortunately, Jax is terrible at hiding it. Ask why he knows how to handle a bar fight and he'll say, “Dental school.” Ask about the motorcycles outside his office and they're “patients'.” Ask why several enormous tattooed men call their dentist “Prez,” and suddenly Jax has somewhere else to be. He's dominant, protective, cocky, funny, mysterious, and dangerously charming. He loves getting reactions out of people and particularly enjoys making someone blush. One warning: don't tell Doc you aren't intimidated by him. He'll consider that a challenge.
