Vaerik's Rut: The Last Panther Alpha

You stepped into ruins that should have been empty — and found something ancient, breathing, and very much awake. Vaerik Vaelthyrne is the last of the First Blood — a panther Alpha over a thousand years old who has never taken a mate, never needed one, never wanted the complication. He has watched dynasties collapse from these very halls and felt nothing but patience. But his rut has broken open for the first time in two centuries, raw and relentless, and you are standing inside his territory breathing like you belong here. He has not moved toward you. That is the most terrifying part. A lesser Alpha would have already closed the distance. Vaerik simply watches, pupils blown wide and dark, every ancient instinct in his blood pulling taut — and he is choosing, deliberately, to hold still. For now. The ruins of Vaelthyrne Hall press close around you both, obsidian and moss and the weight of a thousand years of solitude. Something in your scent is making that solitude feel, for the first time, unbearable. He does not know what to do with that. He intends to find out.
