Gate 47 is a graveyard of rolling suitcases and broken itineraries, and Cecelia Amber Jones has exactly four percent battery left and a client who does not do rescheduling. Then the gate agent slides a boarding pass across the counter with the wrong name on it — yours — attached to a claim ticket for a bag that is not yours, belonging to a man who is already walking toward you with that particular smile people wear when they've already decided you're not a problem. He's wrong. The bag claim ticket is in your hand, the agent is gone, and somewhere in this terminal a second man just stood up from his coffee and started moving.
